At the start of last winter, Georgia Ski Trips was still, in many ways, something we were testing in the real world: an idea we believed in, something we had been building towards, but not yet something we had seen fully play out.
Here we are, on the other side of it.
Over the course of the season, we hosted more than fifteen groups and over forty individual guests.
There were many moments this season that will stay with us for a long time. For example, at some point during the season, one of our couples got engaged in the mountains, which was one of those reminders that these trips really become part of people's lives in ways you don't plan for. What starts as a ski holiday ends up carrying a bit more weight than that.
People From Far and Wide
We had people joining from all over South Africa: Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, the Northern Cape, and everywhere in between, and what became clear quite quickly is that there's something powerful about building something intentionally for South Africans.
There's an ease to it: conversations start quicker, humour lands without explanation, and there's a kind of shared friendliness that carries through the week without needing to be forced.

This Year's Conditions
We got extremely lucky with the snow conditions this season.
Every group that came through experienced a bit of everything: clear, bluebird days where the mountains open up around you, snowfall that reshapes the landscape overnight, and a solid base layer that held consistently throughout the season.
It meant that no matter when people arrived, they got to see Gudauri in its full range, and enjoy it in all of its special forms.

The Meals That Stretch Late
Some of the most memorable parts of the week didn't happen on skis.
They happened sitting around tables that slowly filled up with food, fresh bread, grilled meats, stews, cheeses, and bottles of Georgian wine that somehow always arrived before you realised you'd finished the last one.
There's something about Georgian hospitality that changes the pace of things. Meals aren't rushed, conversations unfold gradually. What starts as dinner turns into something longer, more layered, where people settle in properly.
By the end of the week, those evenings start to feel just as central to the experience as the skiing itself.
The Unexpected Part: People
One thing we made a conscious effort to do this season was to create moments where different groups could overlap: nothing forced, just the right conditions for people to connect.
What came out of that was probably the most rewarding part of the whole experience.
People who arrived separately ended up skiing together, sharing spa days, and going out in the evenings, often ending up at Drunk Cherry, which became something of an unofficial meeting point. By the end of the week, it wasn't unusual to see groups that hadn't known each other at the start moving through the mountain as if they'd arrived together.
It's the kind of thing you can't really manufacture, but you can create the conditions for, and this season, it happened naturally.

Looking Ahead
Now that the season's come to a close, there's a feeling that this was just the beginning of something.
There's a lot we want to refine and improve for next year, but the core of it feels clear: this works, and there's space to grow it in a way that keeps the same feeling intact.
If this season showed us anything, it's that more and more South Africans are starting to look beyond the usual ski destinations, and finding something here that feels both easier and, in many ways, more memorable.

If You're Thinking About Next Season
We've already started planning for the 2026 season, and one thing we're being intentional about is keeping the experience personal.
If you've been thinking about doing a ski trip, but Europe feels complicated, expensive, or just a bit overwhelming, this is probably the easiest way to do it properly.
Most of our guests this year booked earlier than they expected to. Not because we pushed them to, but because once flights and dates start lining up, the good options disappear quickly.
So if this is something that's been sitting in the back of your mind, it's worth at least starting the conversation.
You can explore packages or register your interest here.
Even if you're just exploring, we're happy to talk through options, timing, and what the trip could look like for you.
